Stop translating your thoughts before you speak

Names, technical terms, quotations, and borrowed phrases often belong to a different language than the surrounding sentence. RoughSay is designed for that reality. You can mix supported languages naturally instead of forcing every recording into a single-language input mode.

In polished modes, the preset controls the final output language. A mixed English and Spanish explanation can become one clear French email, while a French instruction can produce a German reply.

Formal and informal German when the distinction matters

German presets can choose formal Sie or informal du, along with a suitable sign-off. This keeps workplace email, customer communication, and casual chat from drifting into the wrong register.

Keep names and specialist vocabulary exact

A personal dictionary and smart text replacements preserve names, acronyms, jargon, addresses, links, and product spellings. Replacements run locally and can also be used with Private on-device transcription.

Presets can combine language, tone, structure, sign-off, and app or website triggers, so the right format is ready before you begin speaking.

Use multilingual transcription privately

Private on-device mode runs the multilingual transcription model locally and delivers the raw transcript after local replacements. It does not call OpenAI. On-device + polish also keeps microphone audio local, but sends the transcript for rewriting in the chosen language.
